This is the promotional video made for a conclave at which Jeff Pratt was advertising his newly developed Sunday School curriculum titled "252." All filming was done in one day, editing the next, and final product was burned to DVD and put in Jeff's hand the next morning as he left for the conclave.

This video was made for a conference which Inquest was asked to facilitate. I didn't really have anything to do with the theme. The "QuestFilms" bit at the beginning was new at the time. We were trying some new ideas, and that was one of them. We used it a few more times before we eventually adopted "Torch Studios" as our name.

Barstool + Friends + Camera = Fun countdown project. I've cut a few pieces together to show the basics. It is a 5 minute countdown and I think this is boiled down to just more than a minute.

This is just a piece that was put together as a dramatic video. It includes scenes from the movie, Passion of the Christ, and a song from the band "Seven Places." The audio track is straight from their CD, including the pastor's explanation of the seven wounds of the crucifixion.

This is a simple piece developed to serve as a DVD background. The idea was not to make it too flashy, but rather subtle to enhance the idea of twinkling stars.

Three graphic pieces I worked on.

The first is the logo for QuestCamp '06. It was a military theme, so I decided to go with a logo that looked like a military badge.

When we started producing films independently, this was the name we went by.

A simple background for Camp. It was displayed on the screen when nothing else was going on.

This is a thematic intro video for QuestCamp. The camp theme was "Redeeming the Time" from Ephesians 5:15-16. We gathered some friends together, grabbed our gear, and shot the entire thing in one day. It was edited in about 2 days and then sent off to camp. Some of the scenes were shot a little funny, but we only had a limited amount of people helping us, so we had to get creative with the framing of some of the shots (especially the cafeteria scene). A couple of times, people walk through the shot that weren't even with us. If you look for it, you can spot at least three people that don't belong. Enjoy!

Every year at QuestCamp, we made a video that went along with the theme of the camp. This video is from 2005, when the theme was "No Comprimise" from Titus 2:12. The No Compromise video is one that for me, is kind of like an awkward stage in life. It was the first time we had filmed a "storyline," and tried to set up staged scenes. Looking back, there are a ton of mistakes in this video, but we were just happy that it didn't tank. The first half of the video features music written by my friend Chris White. We had to have something that would transition well into the last half and we couldn't find anything we liked better than what he came up with. I hope you like it!

Now I have to admit, this video was not my idea. My church was going through a series of Question and Answer sermons and asked me to do this video. They had gotten the idea from Lifechurch.tv. What I did was remake the video (from scratch) to personalize the video for our church/pastor. I am including this one to show that I can work with more than just film. This video was actually a ton of fun! Here is the link to Lifechurch so you can see the original to compare. My version of this video ended up fairly small because it had to be small enough to go out in our e-mail newsletter.

This was made as part of a promotional package. The logo for camp is not included in the video as our graphic designer didn't have one ready by the deadline for getting the video out.

The idea for this video came up in a random conversation, so we shot it and edited it in about 5 hours. The cabin is where we stayed for two weeks at a little camp ground near Dallas, TX. I was happy with the way this one came out because I tried to mimick some of the effects MTV uses in their show. The music was the hardest part, but you be the judge of how it came out.

p.s. The guy's name is really Dave Matthews. We didn't make that up.

p.s.s. For those of you that know Chad Jordan (young adult editor at Lifeway), you may see his cameo in this one.

This video was made to introduce the camp staff to the campers. We decided to go with an '80s "Senior Superlative" idea after finding a bunch of old yearbooks at the campsite (an old college). It was kind of a last minute idea, but it was one that worked out pretty well if I do say so myself.
